If you wish to win a man over to your ideas, first make him your friend. Abraham Lincoln

There are people out there in America with thousands of followers who cannot form a complete thought on their own.  No names will be printed here. If you want to follow these folks, find them yourself.  I asked one with initials JS on a social network, “What’s your point?” The person’s theme is, Just Being Me, Support Operation Rescue: Restoring the American Dream! Great Individuals who will make an immediate impact!”  Now what “red blooded American” could resist helping? The reason for the question – every statement on the website was repeated from somewhere or someone else and/or a LOL reply. That’s strange was my thought. Everything people rely to this person is funny? That didn’t quite make sense with “Operation Rescue.”   A reply came back, “the point I made.” I thought to myself OK perhaps this individual did not understand the question.  I repeated my inquiry with more explanation, “What’s your point, focus, idea – unique thought – something that came from your own mind? It’s been three days. How long does a person take to form an answer that’s theirs – without help – in 140 characters or less? I had an eye-opener. Now I realize no answer is the answer! "No answer" is a more powerful answer than any answer the person could have given. Did I unknowingly “psych” the person by asking for one to think for oneself? Most people will try to change the theme a little this way or that way or try to give some additional answers to make it to mean somewhat different – “Operation Rescue is...”  There is plenty of hope for more interaction between the two people. A “no answer” is very final – “I have no clue. My mind is thoughtless. I can’t think for myself. The question’s too hard to answer!”

A wise man makes his own decisions; an ignorant man follows the public opinion. Chinese Proverb

When I came across this article the thought hit me, “Be afraid – Be very afraid!” Upon reviewing an article, “Poll: 1 In 5 Americans Believe Obama Is A Cactus” published by the Onion, Brooklyn, NY at first one might think this a humorous work. Take an analytical look at this article, and you’ll see in the election year there are candidates and voters that truly believe in their hearts the poll is correct. Have many Americans become mindless sheep that are gullible? Much of the election seems to be riding on whether the candidates believe “Obama is a Cactus.”

The events are not necessarily chronically, there were just so many for me to remember. During the campaign President Obama was portrayed as a domestic terrorist. His pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s, a Navy veteran, sermons was considered anti-white. The lengthy Newsmax report by Ronald Kessler said its correspondent, Jim Davis, attended services on July 22, 2007, at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago's South Side and saw Obama in attendance. But wait its 2010 and President Obama’s a Muslim – right? The very least that is written is the President is a Muslim lover! Is the Trinity United Church of Christ really a mosque? I’m so confused!!

The next thing I remember was the President was not an American, although he was born in Hawaii after it became a state of the United States. This claim made by a Soviet born Israel educated dentist-lawyer. She had a very large support group with financial backing from as high up as Congressman. I seem to remember in June-July 2010 that the U.S. rounded up 11 Americans in a suspected Russian spy ring putting the spotlight back on espionage practices and the way “deep cover” agents’ work. Is that woman still drilling teeth?

President Obama caused the 2007 recession. This one’s got to be true. Alas no PRESIDENT BUSH: “Thank you very much. And tonight, I have the high privilege and distinct honor of my own, as the first president to begin the State of the Union message with these words...” gave the State of the Union speech January 23, 2007.

The last point which is totally crazy is that President Obama is Black! That’s going too far, the man’s mother was white, Ann Dunham. He was raised by a white grandmother and white military veteran uncle. It’s easier for me to believe the “Poll: 1 In 5 Americans Believe Obama Is A Cactus.”

Yes your just confused, Jeremy was a Muslim, he is still a muslim sympathizer! He doesn't supposedly preach hate of whites, he OPENELY preaches hate of whites! He is recorded everywhere, look it up yourself! Obama has only been to church 3 times since his inaguaration! His third was this weekend after Huckaby called him on it last week! Educate yourself as to what is really happening in this country!

American Romance YOU will not be the one educating me! After approximately 800 words in the article all you have is "Jeremy was a Muslim." Unlike you I do check my facts before writing an article. I already mentioned in the above article, Rev Wright's sermons were considered anti-white. So YOU will not be educating me about that!

The article was not about Jeremiah Alvesta Wright, Jr. I won't be calling him "Jeremy" since I don't know him like that. When I did MY research this is what I found in public records:

From 1959 to 1961, Wright attended Virginia Union University, in Richmond and is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, Zeta Chapter. In 1961 Wright left college and joined the United States Marine Corps and became part of the 2nd Marine Division attaining the rank of private first class. In 1963, after two years of service, Wright joined the United States Navy and entered the Corpsman School at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center.

Wright was then trained as a cardiopulmonary technician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Wright was assigned as part of the medical team charged with care of President Lyndon B. Johnson Before leaving the position in 1967, the White House Physician, Vice Admiral Burkley, personally wrote Wright a letter of thanks on behalf of the United States President.

In 1967 Wright enrolled at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1968 and a master’s degree in English in 1969. He also earned a master's degree from the University of Chicago Divinity School Wright holds a Doctor of Ministry degree (1990) from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio

Wright became pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Chicago on March 1, 1972. Wright has been a professor at Chicago Theological Seminary, and Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. Wright has served on the Board of Trustees of Virginia Union University, Chicago Theological Seminary and City Colleges of Chicago. In early 2008, Wright retired after 36 years as the Senior Pastor of his congregation and no longer has daily responsibilities at the church.

Since you have a Creditable source "THAT IS NOT YOU" that can be verified, come back and share it. Thank you for providing yourself as an example to the proverb - A wise man makes his own decisions; an ignorant man follows the public opinion. Chinese Proverb

Thanks for writing this article, its nice to hear a voice of reason. Polls are about as useful as a pair of teeth in my asshole and are but one of the many examples of how news-media, especially in the U.S, is failing. When a poll is presented there's no way for the viewer to know the accuracy of the statement and even if 1 in 5 Americans believe any number of ridiculous things, if they are not facts they don't belong in any serious outlet for news and only cheapen the debate to trivial statements like "THIS IS WHAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT".

elliotm thanks for your comment. You are correct, Americans should be making decisions on facts. There are groups who try to shove their ideology down ones throat. Even if 99% of the people have that opinion, it's still an opinion - not fact. You need more than tea to swallow it.

‘’President Obama caused the 2007 recession. This one’s got to be true. ‘’

The facts

Obama was a Senator in Congress 2007,2008. The Democrats had majority control of both houses in Jan 2007 and 2008 essentially controlling Congress . The recent recession began in Dec 2007 and continues to the present day. In Oct 2008 the Democrat majority Congress pushed through ‘’ TARP LEGISLATION ‘’ without needing the minority parties vote to pass the legislation. Senator Obama voted for the banking bailout.

George W. Bush had a majority Republican Congress from 2000 to 2006. When Clinton left office unemployment was 4.5%.The Democrat Congress in Jan 2007 started the year with unemployment at 4.6%.

The question,’’ did President Obama than a Senator cause the 2007 recession?

Today unemployment is 9.7% and there are 14.9 million workers out of work. Under the leadership of Pelosi and Reid since 2007 to 2010 the recession has deepened. In Jan 2009 President Barak Obama started his presidency with a SUPER ( 60 SEATS IN THE SENATE AND2/3 MAJORITY IN THE HOUSE )Democrat controlled Congress. The Republicans were left with NO power in both houses to stop any legislation proposed by the super majority Democrats.

To hear President Barak Obama complaining that the minority Republicans are holding up legislation is to be disingenuous and some what untruthful. The truth of the matter is that some Democrats refused to be intimidated in passing some of the President’s and the Democrat party’s agenda.

Don't worry - AR is one of the biggest open racists/bigots on here. There is no use in debating him.

Ewall- Your response is juvenile and doesn't take into account cause/effect. The manifestation of unemployment doesn't take a month, as if Obama came into office and everybody laid people off. Don't be a child.

''The manifestation of unemployment doesn't take a month, as if Obama came into office and everybody laid people off. Don't be a child.''

CAN YOU BE MORE SPECIFIC IN YOUR STATEMENT? There are 14.9 million workers out of work today. The $825 billion stimulus was to keep unemployment below 8%, what happened to the promises by this administration.
