Interesting !!– Very Different New Year Resolutions
When asked, some folks came up with very different imagative resolutions, clearly thought out (??):
- For today only, I will not sit in the living room all day in my pajamas. I will move the computer to the bedroom and stay in bed.
- I will never again waste time relieving the past; instead I will spend my time wisely worrying about the future.
- I will impress my boss with new excuses for calling in sick or coming to work late.
- I will use Febreze more and wash less laundry.
- To help conserve water, I will take less baths. (We may all turn Green!)
- I promise my lawyer that I will never again show up drunk at a DUI hearing.
- I will give up chocolates 100%. OH just read a health article – chocolates are good for you!
- I will stop communicating with my wife using e-mails.
- I resolve to work with neglected children -- my own.
- I will spend less than one hour a day on the Internet. This, of course, will be hard to estimate since I'm not a clock watcher.
- I will cut my hair, and then let my hair grow.
- I will stop considering other people's feelings when they so obviously don't consider mine - if that unwashed fellow sits next to me again, I'll tell him he stinks!
- I will not ring the stewardess button on airplanes just to get her phone number. I will be more imaginative.
Popular New Year Resolutions
Resolutions - the act of resolving or determining upon an action or course of action, method, procedure, etc for the New Year. They are popular around the world, because almost everyone makes these resolutions sometime in their life. As luck would have it, many people fail to keep up their promise and take up the same resolution every year. Thus that fact makes them popular!
· Get into Shape - Society is obsessed about looks, body composition and weight.
· Get More Organized – Every year we promise to get rid of the clutter in mind, home and office.
· Give up Smoking / Drinking – Improving our lifestyle is always a good resolution. Many people drink and smoke to ring in the New Year and swear to stop everything “cold turkey” the very next day – after the hangover!
· Get / Change a Job –Keeping a job in this economic market may be a better resolution this year.
Soaring ambitions are making many people resolve to find a new or better job for themselves. Many promise to find an alternative career or start their own business.
· Keep a Check on Expenses & Pay Down Debt - We see a rise in people who resolve to keep a check on their expenses. Those living under debt really should resolve to pay down debt and lead a less stressful life.
· Buy a House / Renovate / Relocate - Many people want to buy a house or any other type of property. This may be your year since it’s a buyer’s market. There are so many houses on the market at prices people can now afford. Others usually plan to do some kind of renovation, buying some new furniture or gadgets.
· Find a Mate - Finding a mate and/or getting married are resolutions of some singles make every day.
· Learning Something New - Attempt to stay informed about the world and share the knowledge. Einstein’s quote, “Learn from yesterday, live for today, and hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.”
· Enjoy More and Travel More – Everyday people watch TV, movies – Travel Channel – and make a resolution to travel and enjoy life more. Have you seen the movie Bucket List ? Don’t wait until you are dying to attempt to travel out of your neighborhood.
· Spend More Time with Family - In present times, people are often hard pressed for time, sometimes forced to work two jobs and/or odd hours. Make the time that you spend quality, and not just resolve for quantity.
· Work on a Hobby - During New Year's many people make a promise to reinvigorate passion for hobbies and add interest to their life. Those without a hobby plan to find one.
· Help Others / Do Service for Society – This one resolution should not be pushed to the side or forgotten.
· There are so many ways to do service. Check out these options:
o Participate - Change the World
Just Can't Say Enough
What were they thinking....

Hello dashingclaire! I think I make the same resolution every year - for the past twenty-seven years; to loose weight. Today, I am still trying.
Fantastic Hub, by the way. I rated this, too.
