The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - Review

The cast includes Kelsey Grammer's ex- wife Camille Donatacci Grammer, former child stars Kim and her sister Kyle Richards, businesswoman Adrienne Maloof-Nassif, restaurant-owner Lisa Vanderpump-Todd, and business owner Taylor Armstrong.

When I hear the word psychic, many things come to mind-spiritual, intuitive, clairvoyant and second-sighted. None of those words came to mind watching Allison Dubois, self-proclaimed psychic and criminal profiler on "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills". The adjectives that jumped out were drunk, rude, aggressive, whacked woman. It was not my intention to watch Real Housewives, but my daughter said, “Mom you have to see this!” The results were me staying up to watch the repeat show to get a recap of what I thought I missed. Now sleep deprived I have only myself to blame for letting a deranged woman keep me from sleep.

Reality shows are made for drama, and I do believe some of it is an act. Hopefully Allison Dubois was doing her best try at dramatic acting because she was neither knowledgeable, supernatural nor mysterious. If she was a true psychic she must have realized the backlash her behavior was going to have. The audience knew! "That woman is insane!" Allison Dubois, the character on which the show 'Medium' is based, was on Bravo's "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" as a dinner guest and best friend of Camille, Kelsey Grammer’s ex-wife (“It's time for me to come out of my husband's shadow and shine.”). Camille, herself an interesting individuals, who proclaims thought out the show she’s forgiving and doesn’t hold grudges. But all she talks about is Kyle Richards, and how Kyle gravely hurt her feelings. Whenever someone reminds her she’s still holding a grudge, she looks like a deer catch in headlights with eyes wide and mouth opened. Kyle thinks Camille is a “delusional bitch.” Camille is so convinced of her self-righteous victory over a “morally bankrupt” Kyle at their last New York dinner gathering, that she wants another shot at the high road.

Camille Grammer has a dinner party and invites the housewives including Allison Dubois. Kyle Richards hesitates accepting when Camille called, but accepts when it’s agreed she can bring Faye Resnick, a former Playboy model and friend of Nicole Brown Simpson. Faye and Kyle had previous plans which they should have kept. The dinner turns into the Dinner Party From Hell.

Camille is a generous soul who doesn't like to hold a grudges attacks Kyle who is defended by Faye. Allison Dubois comes to Camille’s aid and the dinner turns into “OneFlew Over the Coco Nest”. Now understand the show is edited for TV, but Allison seemed to be the only really belting down drinks that even Camille tried to take her glass. The Dinner Party from hell started when Camille “seems” to remember Faye Resnick from somewhere. “That’s right Playboy Magazine.” Now really, was that necessary since she knew the woman was coming to her house. Faye Resnick posed nude for Playboy BUT so did Camille. So was the real reason for mentioning it that Fay is also a close friend of Kyle Richards and her family.

Camille: “So now, how do you know Faye and who is Faye? I mean, I know she looks familiar, but I don’t know who Faye is?”

Kyle: “She’s a very close family friend, I consider her like a sister. “

Camille: “Oh, that’s nice.”

Camille: “You know how I know her? I saw her naked in Playboy. She posed naked in Playboy after the OJ trial. That’s her.”

Well, all of that gave Allison Dubois free license to start acting out. Allison ended up getting into a heated fight with Kyle after Kyle and Camille yelled at each other. Allison Dubois involved herself in to their shouting match, making the comment, “Well, you know what? You (Kyle) are not interesting to me at all. But you continue being interested by me. That’s awesome. You have two legs, too. They can walk.” A - when did this become Allison’s house and party?

Allison pulls out a electronic cigarette and continues sipping on mammoth cocktails. She resembled Joan Crawford in “Mommy Dearest “with dramatic and wild-eyed puffs off her E-cigarette and sips of her mammoth martini.

Allison the psychic must have known she was drunk and obnoxious. That would make her behavior deliberately hurtful and harmful. Allison continued to make statements to Kyle such as, “You should know that your husband will never fulfill you.” Once the housewives finally left, Allison continued with statements, “I know when she’s (Kyle) going to die and what happens to her children.” OK!

It’s Camille’s house, dinner party and guests and she could have ended the craziness – but did not! It’s ironic that perhaps Allison was channeling Camille and not Kyle with her comments – "Your husband will never emotionally fulfill you, so know that," she happily announced to Kyle. "As soon as your kids are grown up you'll have nothing in common." Then Allison said Kyle had a hard time getting along with women and Camille didn't like someone intruding on her turf. "That's me! That's me!" Camille insisted, as if preferring men's company to women's is something to brag about. Allison continues on Kyle her husband is cheating on her; she’s cold as ice. Really sounds like Camille. Wrong channel Allison!

Allison Dubois ended the show taped part of the evening with a bizarre nasty drunk rant of cruel, cliche-laden vulgarity in the presence of Camille the lady. “Those bitch women have another thing coming if they think Allison Dubois is ever going to lend her sixth sense should any of their kids have the misfortune of being abducted.” Laughing, she guffawed, stirring her (lose count) drink with that preposterous pretend cigarette. “A pox upon their children! Double middle fingers to the lot of them! She'll shove her cigarette up Kyle's butt—oh wait; she'd need 100 of them to make them stick. Yeah, she went there,” as her hand jerked off the air. “I know exactly when and how Kyle is going to die and I love that about myself.” Children are off limits – Allison’s doomed!
